Microsoft Fined EUR 60 Million by French Privacy Watchdog Over Advertising Cookies on Bing Website
Microsoft was fined EUR 60 million (roughly Rs. 530 crore) by the National Commission for Technology and Freedoms (CNIL) for forcing advertising cookies on users on its Bing website. The French regulator said Microsoft's search engine Bing did not allow users to refuse cookies as simply as accepting them.
